JuliPickingCompressedMember Worker Program

As a member of our CSA farm, we invite you to work on our farm.  This is an optional opportunity for you to work with us, learn about our farm, and help to grow your food.  Workers perform vital work that needs to be done in a timely fashion.  If you work here, you must arrive on time, follow our instructions, and work carefully.  Before you sign up, please read the information below and be sure that you are willing to make the physical and mental commitment to working here.  If you have questions, please call or email and we will be happy to speak with you.

Work

•  The workshift schedule at the bottom of this page describes what tasks we expect to do during each of our shifts.
•  All of the tasks require light lifting and repetitive motion.  As described on the schedule, some shifts require bending, kneeling, and/or squatting.  Please don’t choose those shifts if you have a bad back or knees.
•  We will train you in the work, and you do not need prior experience.  You do need to carefully follow our instructions.

Rebate

Working members receive a $25 rebate on their membership fee for each shift worked by an adult.  (E.g., if two adults work a shift together, the rebate is $50).  You deduct this rebate in advance from the price of your membership.  You are only entitled to a rebate if you arrive for your shift on time, complete the entire shift, and make a good faith effort to work carefully.  If you don't meet these criteria, you agree to pay us the rebate which you deducted from your membership fee.

Weather & Cancellation

We will usually proceed with scheduled workshifts regardless of weather.  However, we do reserve the right to cancel shifts because of very inclement weather or other unusual circumstances.  If we cancel a shift, you are entitled to keep any rebate which you deducted from your membership fee.

Preparing For Your Shift

Read directions to our farm and information about appropriate clothes, footwear, bug repellant, and water bottles.

PeppersAndFarmsteadCompressedChildren

The workshift schedule describes whether children can attend each of the shifts.  When children do attend, we require them to obey rules and stay away from machinery, barns, and other off limits areas.  Otherwise, they are free to play nearby or help with the work as they are able.

Scheduling Your Work Shifts

If you would like to work, choose one or more shifts from our schedule below.  When you fill out our online enrollment form, you will be able to select your workshifts there and you can deduct your worker rebate from the cost of your membership.  If you've already enrolled as a CSA member, please email or call to schedule a workshift.
